Job description

Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect products, such as forgings, bars, sheets, castings, and strips, for conformity to customer specifications
  • Use measuring instruments to examine products for flatness, straightness, and defects, such as cracks, slivers, or scars
  • Mark defective areas with chalk or paint
  • Verify dimensions of product, using micrometers, gauges, tapes, and templates
  • Conduct hardness tests, using, hardness testing machines
  • Reject products not meeting specifications
  • Prepare reports covering materials scrapped or salvaged
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
  • Accepts and adapts easily to change
  • Ensures that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement
  • Operates job-related equipment with or without an accommodation
  • Meets physical demands of job with or without an accommodation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of previous experience required; aircraft parts inspection preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Rev C preferred
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Proficient with basic shop math
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
