Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Network Automation Architect to join our team on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days onsite per week. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network architecture, automation, and CI/CD and a proven ability to design and implement enterprise network solutions while driving automation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Development.
  • Systems Administration.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Python and shell scripts within virtual environments.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
  • Deploy code to development, QA, staging, and production using the continuous integration and deployment platform.
  • Validate new services using the testing framework and add test cases to improve quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies for network configuration, monitoring, and management.
  • Design and maintain scripts and tools to automate network tasks and workflows.
  • Implement and manage network orchestration tools in conjunction with the BOA foundational automation team.
  • Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to streamline operations and processes.
  • Participate in the team on-call rotation to support application users as required.
  • Engage stakeholders to capture network requirements and translate them into technical solutions suitable for management and team consumption.
  • Lead architectural discussions and decision-making for network and automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, DevOps engineers, and software developers.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network architects and engineers.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes, including code and configuration documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years as a network architect or senior network engineer.
  • Extensive experience with network automation tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, and VRFs.
  • Very strong proficiency in Python and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar).
  • Experience with Ansible or similar automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with SDN technologies such as Arista CVP and Cisco ACI.
  • Experience with CI/CD and IaC tools such as Terraform.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced networking certifications such as CCIE or JNCIE.
  • Knowledge of database systems such as SQL and Nautobot.
  • Arista ACE Level 5+ or Cisco DevNet S/P/E.
