Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Pulmonary Function Technologist - Lake Success.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for performing Pulmonary Function testing which includes Lung Volumes, Spirometries, Diffusion Capacity, Methacholine Challenges and Pulmonary Exercise testing as required. Performs daily quality assurance on the equipment to insure the quality and validity of the tests performed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure. Schedules patients for testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required.
  • Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests. Reviews folders on a daily basis to insure efficient turnaround of patient reports.
  • Performs Methacholine Challenge testing for WUH attendings and private attendings. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to insure optimal utilization of Provocholine.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; RRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapist license OR Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; CRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician license
OR Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification for Pulmonary Function Technology (CPFT). Experience in Pulmonary Function Lab highly desired. Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
t Graduate Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Able to perform all aspects of Pulmonary Function Testing.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
