Job description

TRCTalent, along with a leading manufacturer that supplies to the power distribution industry seeks a full time Project Manager. This project manager will oversee end-to-end execution of power generation projects including generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear, and associated electrical/mechanical equipment. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to technical specifications and customer expectations. The position requires strong coordination across sales, engineering, vendors, and customers, with direct responsibility for procurement, scheduling, and project financial execution. Position requires travel up to 50% and can be based out of Smyrna or Austell.

Responsibilities:

  • Review new project orders for accuracy of BOMs, cost estimates, and contractual terms

  • Validate technical specifications against customer requirements and quoted scope

  • Coordinate with sales and engineering to resolve scope gaps, discrepancies, or risks

  • Manage project lifecycle from purchase order through final customer acceptance

  • Obtain and track submittal approvals and manufacturing release authorization

  • Issue purchase orders to vendors and manage procurement of equipment and services

  • Coordinate logistics, including shipping vendors and delivery scheduling

  • Maintain project timelines and ensure adherence to milestones and deliverables

  • Support invoicing for delivered goods and services and ensure financial accuracy

  • Communicate status updates to internal stakeholders and external customers

  • Resolve project issues proactively to avoid delays or cost impacts

  • Participate in safety programs and ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of project management or engineering experience in the electric power industry or related technical field

  • Experience with diesel and gaseous generators, ATS, paralleling switchgear, or similar systems

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical power generation systems

  • Experience working with customer-facing project delivery and coordination

  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and multitasking capabilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat preferred

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams

  • Strong customer service orientation with sense of urgency and ownership

  • Experience with Caterpillar or similar OEM ecosystems is a plus
