Role Overview
The Senior Finance Manager - Project Finance Controller (Capacity Expansion) leads financial planning, governance, and execution for internal manufacturing capacity expansion investments across Mitsubishi Power Americas. This role ensures disciplined capital deployment across the full project lifecycle, from business case development through execution and post-investment performance tracking, within an SAP-enabled environment. The position partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and finance leadership to ensure capital investments deliver expected financial and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and evaluation of capital investment business cases in partnership with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain leaders.
  • Build, validate, and challenge financial models including NPV, IRR, payback, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Provide SAP-based financial governance for capital projects using WBS structures and Internal Orders.
  • Ensure accurate project setup, tracking, approval compliance, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Track capital budgets, actuals, commitments, and forecast-at-completion, driving variance analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper capitalization, cost allocation, and financial close-out of capital projects.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and align capital deployment with funding and working capital objectives.
  • Monitor post-investment performance against business cases, including ROI, utilization, and cost improvement metrics.
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and FP&A as finance lead for capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting, dashboards, insights, and recommendations on CapEx performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Eight to twelve (8-12+) years of experience in manufacturing finance, FP&A, or project finance.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP, including Project Systems (PS), WBS, and Internal Orders.
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities for capital investment evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead capital governance, cost control, and ROI tracking for large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills with ability to influence senior leadership.
