The Opportunity

ProConnect Electric, the electrical division of Mobile Illumination, is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager / Estimator – Division Growth Lead to help drive the next stage of growth for its electrical contracting division.

This is not a traditional project manager seat where work is simply handed over after award. The right person will help find the work, estimate the work, win the work, manage the work, and build the systems needed to grow the division.

This role is ideal for a senior commercial electrical professional who has already operated at a high level in project management, estimating, field coordination, and General Contractor relationship-building. ProConnect is looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to help build a growing division, not someone looking for a cushy lateral move into a fully established structure.

You will step into a company with an established foundation, recognizable project history, and a growing electrical division that needs a proactive leader who can bring structure, relationships, estimating discipline, and execution horsepower.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead electrical projects from bid review through final closeout

  • Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents

  • Perform takeoffs and prepare accurate electrical estimates

  • Identify which bid opportunities are worth pursuing based on project type, size, margin, schedule, and company fit

  • Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors, estimators, project managers, vendors, and field partners

  • Help ProConnect get onto new GC bid lists and generate repeat bidding opportunities

  • Convert estimating opportunities into awarded projects

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, labor planning, materials, documentation, and field execution

  • Coordinate with foremen and internal field crews to keep work moving efficiently

  • Anticipate project risks, scope gaps, change-order opportunities, material needs, access issues, and schedule constraints

  • Help determine labor needs and support crew ramp-up or ramp-down based on project demand

  • Support hiring, mentoring, and development of field and operational team members as the division grows

  • Create and improve SOPs, estimating standards, project workflows, communication processes, and operational systems

  • Communicate clearly with internal teams, GCs, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and field crews

  • Help shape ProConnect Electric into a stronger, more scalable, stand-alone electrical business

What We’re Looking For

The strongest fit is someone who is already doing this type of work today.

You should be able to:

  • Estimate electrical work accurately

  • Manage awarded projects from start to finish

  • Work directly with GCs and project stakeholders

  • Help source and pursue new bidding opportunities

  • Lead foremen and field crews

  • Build systems and structure in a growing division

  • Operate without needing to be told what to do every day

  • Bring leadership, urgency, ownership, and follow-through

This is a role for a self-driven electrical leader who understands both the field and the office side of the business.

Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in electrical contracting, project management, and estimating

  • Strong commercial electrical background

  • Experience managing electrical projects from bid review through closeout

  • Ability to perform takeoffs, build estimates, review scopes, and support bidding strategy

  • Experience working directly with General Contractors, estimators, project managers, vendors, and field teams

  • Ability to identify viable bid opportunities and help pursue new work

  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, labor planning, materials, field execution, and documentation

  • Ability to lead foremen and coordinate internal field crews

  • Experience with projects ranging from approximately $25K to $1.5M+ in electrical scope

  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and follow-through

  • Comfort using digital tools, communication platforms, and estimating/project documentation systems

  • Comfortable working in-office and traveling to job sites as needed

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to project sites across Southern California

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of electrical industry experience

  • Electrical license or certification preferred

  • Experience estimating and managing the same projects from bid through completion

  • Existing relationships in the Southern California commercial construction market

  • Experience helping grow, scale, or professionalize an electrical division, department, or business unit

  • Experience creating SOPs, estimating standards, labor planning processes, or project management workflows

  • Experience hiring, mentoring, or managing electricians, foremen, journeymen, or field crews

  • Experience with tenant improvements, commercial buildouts, multifamily, lighting controls, medical facilities, public works, or prevailing wage projects

  • Experience with digital estimating software, Microsoft Teams, and modern project communication tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is a plus

Best-Fit Candidate Profile

You may be a strong fit if you are:

  • A senior electrical project manager with strong estimating experience

  • An electrical estimator who has also managed awarded projects

  • A commercial electrical leader who knows how to build GC relationships and win work

  • A hands-on operator who can create structure, not just follow an existing system

  • A relationship-builder who can earn trust with GCs, estimators, PMs, vendors, and field crews

  • A growth-minded leader who wants to help build a division into a more independent business

  • Someone motivated by ownership, accountability, leadership, and long-term impact

This Role Is Probably Not the Right Fit If You Are
  • Looking for a desk-only estimating role

  • Looking for a remote or hybrid position

  • Unwilling to travel to job sites

  • Only experienced in residential service work

  • A junior PM still learning how to lead projects independently

  • An electrician looking to move into management for the first time

  • Someone who prefers to be told exactly what to do each day

  • Uncomfortable with technology, digital communication, or modern estimating/project tools

  • Looking for a fully built system rather than helping create and improve one

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary of $140,000–$160,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Performance-based compensation structure may be considered based on experience, role scope, and measurable growth goals

  • Bi-weekly pay cycle

  • 401(k) retirement savings program with employer matching

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Life and disability insurance options

  • Paid time off, including holidays, vacation, and sick leave

  • Company-provided tablet

  • Uniforms and required safety equipment provided

  • Professional training and certifications, including OSHA, fall protection, and manufacturer training

  • Travel support / per diem where applicable
