Job description

OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Piping Designer to support projects in our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing business unit. This position will be based in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office with frequent travel to our client site in Rawlins, Wyoming.


WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design of the process and mechanical piping systems, complying with process piping standards and accepted industry practices.ย  Generate drawings for 3D equipment modeling and piping systems, development of detailed isometric drawings from the 3D model, and equipment location drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Utilize AutoCAD/CADWorx to design engineering drawings.
  • Generate process, mechanical, piping deliverables, E&IC and taking direction from all these disciplines. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, the designer will be responsible for generating designs to meet exacting technical standards.
  • Some travel to client project sites to support drawing as built and design efforts is expected.
  • Walk down piping systems and collect field data from client site to support projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience.
  • Proficiency using Autocad/CADWorx.
  • Experience with industrial piping design.
  • Must be able to travel regularly to our client site in Rawlins, Wyoming.
  • Knowledge or experience in the use of national standards including ASME B31.
  • Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to traverse ladders/platforms to gain access to pipe systems.
