Job Summary:

Good Samaritan University Hospital, a 537-bed teaching hospital and part of Catholic Health, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join its growing Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves providing critical care services for acutely ill pediatric patients, supervising pediatric residents, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

This is an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center with a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, offering cutting-edge treatments, research participation, and teaching opportunities with academic appointment consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatric specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and residents.
  • Supervise and train pediatric residents and medical students during their critical care rotations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and clinical education.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care plans and treatment options.
  • Assist in the development of protocols to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to hospital-wide pediatric emergency response efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Eligible for New York State Medical License.
  • Experience in managing critically ill pediatric patients preferred.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
