Position Description:
Evaluates and validates impacts to data models and datasets and breaks down large initiatives into manageable deliverables following Agile methodologies using Jira and Jira Align. Analyzes, profiles, and transforms datasets to generate actionable insights using SQL and Python. Builds and maintains enterprise data lakes and cloud data platforms using Snowflake. Designs, develops, and maintains dashboards and analytical reports in Tableau and Power BI. Translates data into meaningful insights for stakeholders. Automates business processes using Camunda Modeler and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps) to improve operational efficiency and data workflows. Leverages Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to support data integration, system interoperability, and cross platform data exchange. Gathers and translates business requirements into scalable, high quality data solutions by defining clear use cases, simplifying technical concepts, and developing comprehensive user stories.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with business partners, and engineering and product teams to convert business requirements into conceptual data models and complex SQL queries.
  • Analyzes large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Communicates findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Documents and understands data lineage from source to consumption, ensuring transparency and traceability.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Conducts complex projects and participates in Agile project delivery, taking ownership of deliverables and driving progress through incremental development.
  • Develops and implements techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Applies data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Visualizes, interprets, and reports data findings.
  • Analyzes, manipulates, and processes large sets of data using statistical software.
  • Cleans and manipulates raw data using statistical software.
  • Identifies business problems or management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis.
  • Analyzes data to inform operational decisions or activities.
  • Determines appropriate methods for data analysis.
  • Prepares analytical reports.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) translating complex financial data into actionable business insights in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or a closely related occupation) translating complex financial data into actionable business insights in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and developing data services across the data lifecycle using Power Designer, Collibra, Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Teradata, BigQuery, Python, and Oracle; and developing data workflows using python and SQL.
  • DE designing and implementing data models to map and consolidate information from multiple enterprise databases; ensuring scalability and adherence to best practices-- using Power Designer to generate data models, using Collibra to define data glossary terms and lineage; and using Visio to create dataflow and system diagrams.
  • DE analyzing and profiling large-scale data sets comprising 300 to 450M data features to detect trends and generate statistics and patterns, using SQL across the data lifecycle; designing, implementing and validating data movement; and performing data consumption using visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau).
  • DE identifying matching platforms and their respective referential matching and entity resolution approaches using Verato and Reltio.
