The Opportunity

We are currently seeking talented Aircraft Captains for our Part 91 corporate aviation operation in San Antonio, TX (Hangar).

A corporate aircraft Captain serves as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) ensuring the safe, efficient operation of the aircraft and providing premium, concierge-level travel for executives. They oversee all flight preparations, crew coordination, passenger comfort, and strict FAA & company regulatory compliance. Additional duties such as scheduling, safety, publications, and training are related to the flying mission and will also be required.

The incumbent flies USAA corporate aircraft as pilot in command, or second in command, for domestic and international operations providing safe and efficient aircraft operation and ensuring the safety of USAA executives and employees during transportation.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be
in the office. This position is based in : San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Flies as pilot in command in a designated USAA corporate aircraft for domestic and international operations.
  • Ensures company aircraft are operated in compliance with FAR Part 91 and USAA Flight Operations' procedures.
  • Keeps the Director of Flight Operations informed regarding status of aircraft and flight crews.
  • Recommends procedures and guidelines in support of aircraft operations.
  • Creates flight plans which cover fuel loads, airport coordination, maintenance coordination away from home base, and weather.
  • Performs administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 8 or more years of related experience.
  • Minimum 3,000 hours flying experience or military aviation background.
  • 1,000 hours multi-engine experience.
  • Airline Transport License (ATP).
  • Second Class FAA Medical.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320.00

- $257,970.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
