Job description

Graves & King LLP was founded in 1993 and, since its inception, has focused its practice on the representation of public entities, corporations, and insured individuals in general liability, common carrier litigation, employment litigation, premises liability, flood control, and inverse condemnation claims. With offices in Riverside and Glendale, California, the Firm represents clients in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The Firm was established, and has succeeded, on the premise that a small focused team of experienced legal professionals could provide its clients with more personalized and cost-effective services while achieving outstanding results. The Firm continually strives to maintain this goal and, as a result, has remained a solid presence in the Southern California legal community for over 28 years.

Graves & King LLP is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated firm that is committed to providing its clients with clear and effective communication and direct access to the attorneys handling each claim. The Firm strives to evaluate every case at the earliest possible juncture, enabling clients to make fully informed decisions regarding litigation strategy and the viability of alternative dispute resolution. The Firm’s ability to accurately evaluate cases is the result of its extensive and broad-based experience in handling substantial liability cases, and its ability to work with public entity and corporate personnel to obtain the information and documents needed to fully and accurately assess each case from both a liability and a damages perspective.

Our firm is committed to attracting and retaining professionals who value each other and the service we provide by embracing Teamwork, Collaboration, Client Service, and Innovation. We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Riverside office. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to build a long-term career with a stable and growing firm while gaining exposure to sophisticated litigation matters.

The Position

As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play an integral role supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation lifecycle. You will work on complex matters, collaborate with experienced legal professionals, and contribute meaningfully to case strategy and preparation.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys through all stages of litigation, from initial investigation through trial preparation.
  • Conduct research using court databases and online resources to obtain case-related information.
  • Review, analyze, and organize document productions from opposing counsel and third parties.
  • Prepare summaries of deposition transcripts and key case materials
  • Assist with preparation of materials for expert witnesses, including organizing supporting documentation
  • Maintain well-organized case files and manage large volumes of documents
  • Track deadlines and support attorneys with case management activities
  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members to ensure efficient workflow and strong client service
  • Draft subpoenas and coordinate retrieval of medical, employment, and other relevant records
  • Prepare cases for mediation and trial

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Paralegal Certificate required
  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience drafting subpoenas and managing records requests
  • Experience with insurance defense or insurance coverage matters is a plus, but not required

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
