Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Telecommunications Construction Field Supervisor to oversee outside plant (OSP) construction activities in the field. This role involves supervising subcontractor crews, ensuring safety compliance, reviewing permit designs, and inspecting construction for quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of telecommunications construction practices, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontractor construction crews on assigned telecommunications projects.

Review and verify permit designs and work packages prior to construction.

Monitor and enforce compliance with safety standards, including proper setup and maintenance of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans and devices.

Conduct routine inspections of outside plant (OSP) construction, including underground and aerial facilities, to ensure adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards.

Identify, document, and report any deviations or deficiencies in construction work.

Support the investigation and documentation of third-party damage claims related to outside plant infrastructure.

Act as a liaison between subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and keep projects on schedule.

Maintain accurate field documentation, daily logs, and photographic records of work completed.

Ensure compliance with company policies, local/state/federal regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred.

3+ years of experience in telecommunications construction or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of outside plant construction practices, permitting processes, and safety regulations.

Familiarity with interpreting construction drawings, utility prints, and permit documents.

Experience with MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) standards and traffic control plans.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Proficiency with standard field reporting tools and software (e.g., MS Office, mobile field apps).

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training.

Knowledge of GIS mapping and utility locating practices.

Experience with damage claim documentation and mitigation.
