General Job Brief
Leadership and development of the Men's Lacrosse program including day-to-day operations, recruitment, training, scheduling, academic accountability, community service, intentional faith integration, fundraising, and other key areas. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a culture of faith, influence, relationships, excellence
  • Recruitment to meet roster goals as set by the athletics department
  • Maintain relationships with the MCLA coaches and staff to plan schedules
  • Day-to-day operations of the program
  • Assistant coach development and mentorship
  • Practice and training preparation
  • Academic accountability
  • Community service
  • Fundraising for the program
  • Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team
  • Coordinates with the Game Operations Team on home athletic events
  • Supervision and/or support at home athletic events as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
  • Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
  • Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
  • The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
  • Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • Demonstrated success as a coach
  • Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University

Working Conditions
  • General Lacrosse environment
  • Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks
  • Meeting with student-athletes as needed
  • Travel to competition and recruitment as needed

Time Required
  • Standard college lacrosse calendar for in-season and out-of-season
  • Year-round recruitment expectations
