JOB PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician’s main responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting the maintenance supervisor with fabrication/installation and preventative maintenance of equipment throughout the facilities. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fabrication of needed parts or materials
  • Repair machinery and facilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Install and test new equipment
  • Responsible for keeping the production machinery running with minimum downtime
  • Responsible for maintaining repairs to the facilities
  • Complete paperwork in a timely and legible manner
  • Follow safety policies/procedures including wearing necessary PPE
  • Follow attendance policy and other policies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Possess verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in fresh food or production environment
  • 2+ year of maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must have a working knowledge of English language
  • Basic Mathematical abilities
  • Ability to interact across departments


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to product fumes (e.g., onions, peppers, and other produce)
  • Exposure to cold environments (temperatures of 45°F or below)
  • Exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals (e.g., chlorine)
  • Work performed in a fresh food production and warehouse environment
  • Required to work overtime as needed
  • Use of tools and equipment, including occasional use of cutting utensils (e.g., knives, peelers)
  • Fast-paced production setting with a focus on minimizing downtime
  • Compliance with safety policies and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling tools, and writing
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing
  • Ability to lift and carry items ranging from 5 to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication tasks
