Job Summary:
We seek a talented individual who is passionate about teaching, invested in student success, and eager to teach undergraduate mathematics to students from a variety of majors. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, we invite you to apply for a one-year, visiting assistant professor position to begin August 18, 2026. Scope:
The Department of Mathematics & Physics in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a one-year, visiting assistant professor position in Mathematics, with the possibility of extending the appointment for an additional 1 or 2 years by mutual agreement.
Principal Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach courses in undergraduate mathematics. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Additional responsibilities include service to the Department and College. Questions concerning the position should be directed to Dr. Tena Roepke at t-roepke@onu.edu.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the enthusiasm, knowledge, and skill to teach undergraduate mathematics, excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, and to solve problems creatively in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. An ABD will be considered if all degree requirements are completed before September 1, 2026. Candidates with experience teaching undergraduate mathematics courses are encouraged to apply.
