ABOUT US

Deepwater Corrosion Services, Inc. is a global leader in subsea corrosion control, supporting critical infrastructure across offshore oil & gas, coastal terminals, and offshore wind markets. With operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, and Australia, we specialize in the design, manufacture, and installation of retrofit cathodic protection systems, as well as corrosion engineering and inspection services.


GENERAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Working knowledge of welding various diameter and wall thickness steel pipes and plates.
  • Fabricate project materials (cutting, marking layouts, grinding, etc.) as required.
  • Create jigs, hold fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Work with Stainless Steel 316, A36 Steel, and other Carbon Steels.
  • Read Engineering Drawings and control material without going out of tolerance while fitting/welding.
  • Produce welds that pass Magnetic particle, Ultrasonic, or X-RAY tests with minimal rework.
  • Operate flame and plasma cutting torches.
  • Maintain traceability requirements as required by each project.
  • Follow HSE and Quality Plans in accordance with Company policies.
  • Perform miscellaneous assembly, prepping, and cleaning tasks as required.

PREREQUISITE EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Education: High School diploma, Trade School, or higher.
  2. Must pass a 6G FCAW and a 3G SMAW Procedure Welding Tests.
  3. Good working knowledge of reading Engineering Drawings, Weld Symbols, etc.
  4. Prior experience following Weld Procedures, Certifications, and Maintaining Weld Logs.
  5. Ability to weld from all positions, follow Weld Procedures, and pass Weld Certification requirements.
  6. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  7. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  8. English language fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is Houston-based and requires constant manual welding and fabricating. The role is physically demanding and performed in a shop/manufacturing environment. Requirements include:

  • Physically capable of lifting 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to work in all welding positions as required by project scope.
  • Flexible work schedule able to regularly work overtime, including weekends, as required by Deepwater to meet schedules.
