Position Summary:
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Villanova University has an opening for a full-time non-tenure-track teaching faculty position. Candidates will be considered for an Assistant Teaching Professor rank commensurate with their education and experience. This is an academic-year appointment, renewable subject to enrollment needs, availability of funding, and performance.
The Program is looking for a versatile faculty member that can contribute to and enhance the CBE Program. The successful candidate will teach core and elective courses for Chemical and Biological Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a full-time, in-person position. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively in the classroom and across course topics with faculty in the program and across the college. The appointment begins in August 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibilities include teaching in the CBE Dept. at the undergraduate level.
  • Additional teaching responsibilities may include graduate courses and undergraduate research project advisement.
  • Other responsibilities include student advising, outreach, department service, and commitment to the Department, College and University strategic plans and mission.
  • The candidate is also expected to maintain a presence on campus and be responsive to students as a full-time member of the faculty for the duration of the appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requirements include a BS in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field and either a Ph.D. or extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Previous or current experience in a relevant industry or a national lab is highly desirable.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
