Job description

ADJUNCT/NON-CREDIT INSTRUCTOR
CATEGORY/LEVEL: Adjunct Faculty
BASICFUNCTION: Provide instruction for credit BuildingTrades courses and non-credit Welding courses to students at the Mason CityHigh School. The schedule is to teach half days (mornings) both fall and springsemesters.
START DATE: August 2026
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Prepare for and deliver instruction in the content area, aligning with course competencies, syllabi, and College policies and procedures. Perform work according to assigned schedule.
• Evaluate, record, and report attendance; assess student performance and provide regular, constructive feedback.
• Be regularly available to meet with students as necessary.
• Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, and faculty at both NIACC and Mason City High School.
• Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
NIACC Core Principles: All employees are expected to adhere to all NIACC policies and procedures. NIACC administration, faculty, and staff value a positive working environment and an environment of mutual respect; therefore, all employees are to maintain a positive attitude and respect for others when working with all NIACC departments, employees, students, partners, and the public.
