Job description

Job Summary

The Medical Lab Scientist analyzes biological specimens integrating instrument operation, maintenance, and control/calibration with patient data and test results to provide accurate, reliable, and timely information for preventing, diagnosing, or treating disease. Ensures compliance with quality control and quality assurance programs to affect the highest quality patient care.

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists -ASCP, National Certification Agency NCA, or deemed registry eligible as a Medical Technologist by the American Society or Clinical Pathologists - ASCP, or Clinical Laboratory Technologists (Health Education and Welfare) - CLT (HEW) or be a graduate of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences - NAACLS accredited School of Medical Technology and registry eligible.New graduates or new to the state must pass certifying exam within 18 months of employment.
