Direct Hire - Full Time position in Rochester, NY Pay: $90,500 - $168,500 Position ID: 2727 An excellent position with a large defense technology company delivering innovative mission solutions * RF Design Electrical Engineer * Please apply ONLY if you have 4+ years of RF Engineering experience United States Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements We can ONLY consider your application if you have: 1: Bachelor's Degree 2: 6+ years of relevant experience (4 with Master's, or 10 with no degree) 3: 4+ years of RF experience 4: Hardware troubleshooting ability including analog and RF components and circuits. 5: Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results. 6: Design and analysis of circuits and components utilizing ADS, MATLAB and various design and simulation tools. 7: Experienced in leading small technical design or troubleshoot team, providing direction and prioritizing tasks to meet target yields and shipments. 8: Generate and deliver presentations for various levels of management regarding issues, investigations, improvements or cost savings in a concise manner. 9: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment interfacing with multiple teams across the organization. 10: Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers, and signal generators. 11: Able to analyze designs and communicate technical information to support staff. 12: Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance We are looking for an outstanding RF Electrical Engineer to join a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for supporting military communication products from pre-release to obsolescence. As a member of the Product Support Engineering team, this person will be tasked with investigating a variety of problems including RF/Analog, digital, assembly, SMT and test related; will collaborate across multifunctional teams to diagnose problems to component level, determining solutions via simulation and experimentation and implementing corrective actions. As new products are launched, this person will interface with design engineering, assisting with root cause analysis, troubleshooting of prototypes and ensuring a successful launch into full rate production. DESIRED (not required) SKILLS: :: Electrical engineering degree. :: Experience with tactical Radio and Power Amplifier HW. :: Experience troubleshooting to component level. :: Working knowledge of LabVIEW, ADS and Jira. Duties and Responsibilities == Mitigating component shortages through qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits and sub-assemblies. == Determining design, process, and test improvements to increase test yields and product quality. == Working in cross-functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production. == Working with design engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new designs into manufacturing. == Working with design engineering to make necessary circuit changes prior to and during the launch of new products. == Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle. == Provide guidance to junior staff.
