Job description

Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and software requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network our client needs.

As a Network Engineer on our team, you'll use your experience in system interoperability, OSI model, and server and network application administration to support the nation's defense. You'll develop specialized infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You'll apply your expertise in administration, routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, and system interoperability as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the Air Force evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies.

Your knowledge of network equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in cryptographic equipment, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware and software, Palo Alto hardware and software cloud integration, and SolarWinds, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting network switching and routing

  • 3+ years of experience designing and troubleshooting secure networks

  • Experience managing, configuring, and optimizing transport circuits and routes

  • Experience with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for implementing new network connections, IP address management, maintenance schedules, and recovery procedures

  • Knowledge of routing protocols and services, such as BGP, NAT, or IPsec

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with AWS connectivity

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure connectivity

  • Experience using VMWarevSphere or Horizon

  • Experience working in SAPF and SCIF environments

  • Knowledge of managing TACACS+ and RADIUS

  • Ability to create and manage network support documentation

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cyber, or Information Systems

  • CCNA or CCNP Certification

  • Cloud Certifications, including Cloud+, AWS, or Microsoft Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
