Job description

Operate the compressor station in a safe and efficient manner. Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime and after hour calls. Nothing in this job summary restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
This position is responsible for multiple stations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Compressor Operator: (Journeyman $43.94/hour)
  • Associate degree in an industrial or mechanical related field or equivalent work experience acceptable to the Company.
  • Possess good mechanical and electrical aptitude and have proven human relations and computer skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license and meet applicable DOT mandated commercial driver requirements (i.e. medical card).

Lead Compressor Operator: (Journeyman $45.43/hour)
In addition to the minimum qualifications of the Compressor Operator position, Lead Compressor Operator minimums include:
  • Knowledge of natural gas pipeline related maintenance and construction activities, processes and operations including related DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • 1 year experience as a Journeyman Compressor Operator.
  • Electrical Qualification Level 1 EQ as per the WBI Safe Practices Manual.
  • Successfully complete required T-3 Operator Qualifications and cross-department training.
  • Successfully completed an advanced Natural Gas Engine or Compressor course (ie. Combustion, Turbine, Compressor).
  • Successfully completed Advanced Compressor Operator Skills Checklist.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Must successfully complete the Compressor Operator Training Program.
  • This position requires that you be able to respond to call outs within one hour.
  • This position is responsible for multiple stations.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Subject to the company DOT substance abuse testing program.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in natural gas compression and dehydration processes and knowledge of natural gas pipeline related maintenance and construction activities, processes and operations including related DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Associate degree in Power Plant, Mechanical, Diesel or Auto Technology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate and maintain reciprocating or turbine compressor engines and other station systems.
  • Perform operation, maintenance and housekeeping on compressors, engines, dehydration systems and plant support systems.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze problems and take corrective action.
  • Provide support for pipeline and measurement facilities.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, the Lead Operator is responsible for:
  • Successfully perform all duties assigned to Compressor Operators.
  • Successfully operate, trouble shoot and maintain equipment at alternate compressor(s) than assigned.
  • Effectively trouble shoot and repair complex engines and components, compressors and components, PLC components, relief valves and regulators at multiple stations.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
