Job description

A growing California-based general contractor focused exclusively on multifamily housing construction, is seeking a Lead Superintendent to join their team in Palm Desert, California. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity overseeing a large-scale multifamily community from groundbreaking through completion, with the support of an experienced project team and a strong pipeline of future work throughout Southern California.

What You'll Do as the Lead Superintendent:

  • Direct all onsite construction activities from project startup through turnover
  • Lead subcontractors, field staff, and trade partners to maintain schedule and productivity goals
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-range construction planning efforts
  • Coordinate inspections, deliveries, manpower, and daily field operations
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and project quality
  • Conduct regular site walks and quality control reviews
  • Manage punch list completion and project closeout activities
  • Champion a proactive safety culture and enforce jobsite safety standards
  • Collaborate with project management, consultants, inspectors, and ownership representatives
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel
  • Identify and resolve field challenges before they impact project milestones

Must-Haves as the Lead Superintendent:

  • 10+ years of construction leadership experience in the field
  • Experience serving as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent on multifamily projects
  • Successful track record delivering large residential developments of 200+ units
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and site operations
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
  • Familiarity with inspections, turnover processes, punch lists, and project closeout
  • Proficiency with Procore and construction management technology
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Haves as the Lead Superintendent:

  • Multifamily wood-frame construction experience
  • Slab-on-grade construction experience
  • Affordable housing project experience
  • Southern California construction experience
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience leading large, complex jobsites with significant subcontractor activity
