Motor Rewind Technician — Electromechanical Repair

  $20.00 - $24.00 / hr    |    Belle Glade, FL    |  Full-Time

Tripp Electric Motors, an MCE Company    |  Reports to: Rewind Department Supervisor / Shop Project Manager

At Tripp Electric Motors, our Motor Rewind Technicians are the core of our repair operation. You will rewind, repair, and test a wide range of electromechanical equipment including single-phase and three-phase motors, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers, following EASA standards and proper insulating techniques throughout. This is hands-on, technical work in a busy shop that serves agriculture, water management, municipal, food processing, and industrial customers across Florida. Every motor that leaves our shop has to perform safely and reliably for customers who cannot afford downtime.

If you are mechanically inclined, capable of learning and retaining technical procedures, and take pride in quality electromechanical repair work, we want to hear from you.

Compensation & Benefits

$20.00 - $24.00/hr based on experience. We take care of our team with a full benefits package:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company-paid life, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) with a generous company match.
  • PTO and paid holidays.
  • Tuition reimbursement — we invest in your development.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Voluntary benefit products.
What You'll Do

Inspection and Diagnosis

  • Inspect various kinds of electromechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunction.
  • Test the condition of windings according to EASA Standards.
  • Document and illustrate all relevant data specific to each unit, including electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, and intended serviceability.

Rewind and Repair

  • Dismantle and strip damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment.
  • Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden structural damage or unusual conditions.
  • Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment including single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers, observing proper insulating techniques and requirements throughout.
  • Test rewound electromechanical equipment according to EASA Standards and document all test results.

Equipment Operation and Shop Standards

  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various hand tools.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time for every job.
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear, especially eye and ear protection.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, and organized as directed by the supervisor.
What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • Prior experience in electric motor rewind, electromechanical repair, or a related electrical or mechanical trade.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and retain technical skill-related training and safety procedures.
  • Attention to detail and patience required for precision rewind and repair work.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship on every job.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with EASA Standards for motor testing and repair.
  • Experience operating burnout ovens, VPI systems, winding machines, or similar specialized shop equipment.
  • Forklift or overhead crane operation experience.
