Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Developmental Therapy Early Childhood Specialist

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

STATUS: Full- Time

PURPOSE:

The Developmental Therapy Early Childhood Specialist is responsible for providing special instruction that promotes the childโ€™s development skills. This includes promoting cognitive development, adaptive development, social and emotional well-being, motor development, and communication.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Work with the Service Coordinator to create and implement Family Service Plans.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for home visits.
  • Maintain accurate records and data tracking of patient treatments.
  • Serve as a positive influence through behaviors, attitudes, and actions.
  • Maintain great communication and professional relationships with clients, family members, and co-workers.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's, Master's and/or Doctorate degree in early childhood or special education with an early childhood focus (Required)
  2. Those with related degrees in child development including certified Child Life Specialists, early intervention or nursing (MSN with a pediatric major) and who have completed thirty (30) hours of academic child development coursework may also be considered.
  3. Driverโ€™s license (Preferred)
  4. Good Communicator, Dependable, and Compassionate!
