Description
SAIC is seeking an individual for an RF Modeling and Simulation Analyst role to join the Air Force, Space and Intel Business Group. This group provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. You would support the cutting-edge programs in national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.
This RF Modeling and Simulation Analyst role will work in a collaborative team-focused environment in prototyping, designing, and integrating tools which will be used in modeling and processing RF signals related to communications and radar applications. This position will help advance current and future concepts to inform missions and potential acquisitions. Your role will be to provide needed expertise and proficiency to develop algorithms, support modeling and simulation efforts and provide RF knowledge and modeling skills to conduct analyses to support physics-based modeling for space mission applications. This position is in direct support to the community's space situational awareness mission.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or a related field with 4+ years of professional technical experience (Master's degree with 2+ years, or PhD with 0+)
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance w/Poly
- Develop and maintain physics-based simulation models of RF systems for spacecraft and space domain awareness.
- Conduct radio frequency sensor modeling and digital signal processing of radio frequency data
- Use scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar) to automate workflows, perform data analysis, and interface between simulation tools.
- Generate technical documentation, simulation reports, and visualizations to communicate findings and support design decisions.
- Support trade studies and design reviews by providing modeling insights into performance impacts of design changes.
Desired:
- Strong mathematics background
- Intermediate Python programming experience preferred. Experience with libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and matplotlib is beneficial.
- General understanding of orbit theory, orbit determination, and orbit propagation
- Previous experience supporting the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense
- Experience in data analysis and modeling and of operational air or space systems, assessing performance in current and projected operational environments
- Knowledge and experience with configuration management and version control tools
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
