Job description

Summary

The Lead Cashier position is responsible for accurately processing guest transactions, and providing superior customer service at all food and retail outlets; provide training and assistance of cashiers; and ensuring shift information is passed along to oncoming cashiers and management.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduled coverage at all Food and Beverage Outlets.
  • Provide Guests with a Fun, Friendly, and Helpful experience.
  • Responsible for passing along shift information to oncoming cashiers, learning month end inventory, and contributing to schedules.
  • Delegate tasks as needed to team members.
  • Delegate side work and ensure all items are completed and rotated fairly.
  • Assist leadership in daily break schedule and station rotations.
  • Present and serve menu items as requested by guests.
  • Accurately process guest transactions through the Micros POS System.
  • Keep an accurate bank and maintain proper records of transactions throughout daily shift.
  • Follow standard department and Casino policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain the cleanliness of various equipment needed to prepare and serve menu items.
  • Responsible for keeping work stations and inventory stocked and organized, at all times.
  • Participate in special events and banquets.
  • Provide on the spot training to team members as needed.
  • Perform overrides as needed for prompted requests on Agilisys.
  • Prepare daily inventory/requisitions for supplies and food items for production.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of Casino and department promotions, programs, and services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all department outlets according to Soboba Casino standards and Indian Gaming Health regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist Management in monitoring training of new team members to help them achieve higher status.
  • Assist Management to monitor and enforce company and departmental safety policies, health department, and all other applicable.
  • Assist in daily operation of cashiering in all food outlets as needed. Provides all line staff with the necessary tools and training.
  • Protects the assets of Soboba Casino Resort and preserves confidentiality and integrity when accessing team member information maintained in departmental files / systems.


Education / Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age, or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 6-12 months of cash handling experience, required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of food service experience, preferred.
  • POS knowledge, preferred.
  • Must be able to work posted scheduled shifts. (Scheduling is based on the needs of the Casino)
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States


Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain County of Riverside Food Handlers Card within seven (7) days of date of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TIPS certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified, or able to obtain certification within 60 days of date of hire.
