Summary

As a Business Development Representative you will be responsible for selling lighting, switchgear, infrastructure focused projects, building upgrade/improvement projects, and other electrical products nationwide. This consultative sales role is focused on developing new prospects and interacting with customers to increase sales and margin of the company's products and/or services. You will participate in customer business planning to understand customer needs. Your primary focus will be face-to-face selling and account management activities to meet sales revenue goals by assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services and/or solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales & Operations, Energy Solutions group, this role is critical to accelerate national sales of lighting, switchgear, and energy products.

Essential Job Functions

  • Travel: 30% of time. Visits are to be done to establish "Go To Market" goals. Attend in person meetings with partners and our customers to help close deals
  • Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for partners/customers. Address inquiries and concerns promptly while exploring new business opportunities to maintain high partner satisfaction
  • Build, develop, and execute a comprehensive customized lighting and electrical solution(s) across national portfolios focusing on switchgear, lighting, renewables, and infrastructure products
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and leadership, to ensure seamless coordination. Share customer feedback to drive product improvements and enhance the overall customer experience

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Proven experience in partner management, business development, or sales roles within the lighting, electrical distribution or related industries
  • Strong understanding of lighting solutions, technology, and market dynamics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence effectively, both internally and externally
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
