REPORTS TO: Chief Academic Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary responsibilities include intervention assistance to students performing below grade level in reading and math. The RTI teacher will work with small, targeted groups of students in developing and delivering research-based strategies in addition to consistent progress monitoring. The position requires collaboration with teams in the area of data analysis and regular communication with students, parents, teachers, and administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and support teaching team in the delivery of standards-based curriculum to selected students
  • Successful experience in teaching reading and/or math with a strong emphasis on the individual child
  • Provide remedial/intervention instruction to students in small group and in team teaching situations
  • Provide consistent and data-driven progress monitoring with frequent assessment and consistent, organized reporting and an emphasis and focus on student growth
  • Analyze student achievement data and use results for instructional interventions
  • Create a teaching environment that is conducive to learning and encourages and develops student esteem
  • Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with students and be driven by student growth and achievement
  • Participate in the Child Study progress including a summary of student progress and need
  • Collaborate with RTI and ELL team as well as grade level teams; communicate student progress with homeroom teachers on a frequent basis
  • Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process
  • Use effective communication skills (oral and written) to present information accurately and clearly including the use of technology
  • Attend and participate in all faculty and staff meetings (dependent upon position hours and role)
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues and be a strong and collaborative team player
  • Knowledge or experience in the following programs or curricular areas would be beneficial but not required:
  • Fundations/Wilson Reading
  • Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)
  • DIBELS
  • Read Naturally
  • Guided Reading/Fountas and Pinnell

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with RTI or reading license preferred
  • MA Department of Education certification/licensure required
  • Flexibility with hours possible part-time or full-time position
