Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the pickup of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Key duties include preparing and organizing will-call orders, verifying order details against invoices, assisting customers with locating and loading materials, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. The role also involves communicating with sales staff and customers to resolve discrepancies or address special requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily to perform customer service tasks filling orders of “walk-in" customers.
  • Engage and build professional relationships, providing excellent customer service.
  • Proactively assist customers with loading and unloading of materials purchased.
  • Maintain yard, product and work areas in a neat, clean and safe manner.
  • Maintain fundamental product knowledge & location throughout the yard.
  • Ensure products and materials are well stocked of inventory at all times.
  • Keeps management aware of any delays or discrepancies.
  • Reviews materials loaded against invoice or requisition; completes and routes paperwork appropriately.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret orders and invoices
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
  • Experience working in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to lift 75-100 pounds consistently
  • Must take and pass drug test and consent to a background check
  • Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials is preferred
  • Experience operating radial arm saw, cut-off saw, chain saw and forklift is preferred.
