What is a full time licensed veterinary technician (LVT)?

Full Time LVTs are Licensed Veterinary Technicians who work full-time hours, typically 35-40 hours per week, in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, or related settings. Their responsibilities include assisting veterinarians during exams and surgeries, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, monitoring anesthesia, and providing nursing care to animals. Full Time LVTs are crucial members of the veterinary healthcare team, ensuring high-quality care for animals through their technical expertise and compassionate approach. To become an LVT, individuals must complete an accredited veterinary technology program and pass a national licensing exam.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time licensed veterinary technician (LVT), and why are they important?

A Full Time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) requires a degree in veterinary technology, state licensure, and strong skills in animal care, laboratory procedures, and medical assisting. Familiarity with veterinary practice management software, diagnostic tools, and anesthesia equipment is essential. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and compassion enable LVTs to support veterinarians and reassure pet owners effectively. These competencies are vital to ensure quality patient care, accurate diagnostics, and a positive experience for both animals and clients.

What are some common challenges full time licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs) face in a busy clinic setting, and how can they effectively manage them?

Full Time LVTs often handle a fast-paced workload, balancing patient care, laboratory diagnostics, client communication, and assisting veterinarians with procedures. Managing stress and time efficiently is crucial, as emergencies or last-minute appointments can quickly change priorities. Building strong communication and teamwork skills helps ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care. Many LVTs find that developing routines, staying organized, and proactively seeking support from colleagues contribute to long-term success and job satisfaction in this dynamic environment.

Job description

ABOUT LVT

LVT is redefining how businesses operate in the physical world, moving beyond traditional security solutions to deliver AI-driven, actionable intelligence that makes sites smarter, safer, and more secure. Since pioneering our first mobile, solar-powered units, our commitment to scrappy, hands-on innovation has made us an established leader and one of the fastest-growing companies in intelligent site technology. We are building the next generation of solutions—from our physical units in the field to a powerful Agentic AI platform—that allows our customers to gain unprecedented visibility and control over safety, compliance, and operations. This is your chance to join a cutting-edge team that isn't just watching the world change, but actively building the technology that is changing it.

We're a team that's focused on growth and innovation, and we're proud that our crew, products, and leadership are being recognized for it.

  • A Top-Tier Growth Company: Named one of the Financial Times' Fastest Growing Companies 2025 and #10 on the Inc. 5000 Rocky Mountain Regional list for 2025.
  • Innovative Leadership: Our CEO, Ryan Porter, was named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, and our CTO, Steve Lindsey, was inducted into the Silicon Slopes CTO Hall of Fame in 2024.
  • Product & Software Excellence: We were named one of The Software Report's Top 100 Software Companies of 2023 and are a winner of the Security Today Govies Award for 2025.
ABOUT THIS ROLE

LVT's legal function sits at the intersection of rapid technological innovation and enterprise execution. Reporting directly to the Director, Assistant General Counsel (Product & Privacy), the Product & Privacy Counsel will act as a high-impact, individual contributor safeguarding our scaling operations. You will serve as a trusted legal partner to product, engineering, and commercial teams—navigating the complexities of data privacy, cutting-edge AI regulations, and sophisticated enterprise transactions to enable rapid, compliant business growth.

This role is based full-time in-office out of our headquarters in American Fork, Utah.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Product & Privacy Advisory: Partner directly with Product and Engineering teams to provide proactive legal guidance on privacy, data protection, and consumer protection frameworks throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Commercial Transaction Management: Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements across the product portfolio, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and strategic vendor partnerships.
  • Regulatory Risk Mitigation: Proactively monitor, analyze, and translate emerging state, federal, and international privacy laws and AI regulations into actionable, business-minded operational strategies.
  • Trust & Compliance Enablement: Streamline the commercial pipeline by reviewing and responding to sophisticated customer privacy questionnaires, security reviews, RFPs, and legal due diligence inquiries.
  • Privacy Program Governance: Support the continuous evolution of LVT's privacy infrastructure, driving cross-functional data mapping, policy updates, and compliance initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Legal Operations Scale: Design, refine, and implement scalable internal legal templates and playbooks to accelerate deal velocity while maintaining rigorous risk standards.
  • AI Integration: Leverage and evaluate modern AI tools to optimize contract review, legal research, and drafting workflows, driving maximum efficiency within a lean legal team.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Privacy-Fluent Professional: Possesses deep, practical knowledge of major privacy frameworks (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GDPR) and a proven track record of translating legal compliance into functional engineering requirements.
  • Strategic Commercial Negotiator: Demonstrates extensive experience managing commercial technology agreements, with a sharp ability to find balanced, commercial solutions rather than just identifying legal risk.
  • Autonomous Operator: Operates effectively as a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, taking complete ownership of ambiguous problems from discovery through execution.
  • Business-Minded Advisor: Possesses strong commercial acumen, maintaining a clear distinction between theoretical legal risks and material business exposure to deliver pragmatic counsel.
  • Articulate Communicator: Exceptional capability to distill complex legal, regulatory, and technical concepts into clear, plain-language guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
  • In-House Ready (Preferred): Prior in-house experience within a high-growth technology environment, understanding how to operate as a true collaborative partner to revenue and product teams.
  • Technical Aptitude (Preferred): Comfortable diving into technical architectural details and data flows alongside engineering teams to effectively conduct product counseling.
  • Tech-Forward Mindset (Preferred): Enthusiastic about adopting and leveraging generative AI legal tools to multiply output and streamline day-to-day legal operations.
  • Credentials: Holds a J.D. from an accredited institution with 4–6 years of relevant legal experience. Must possess an active Utah bar license or qualify for a Utah limited in-house counsel license. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, AIGP) are highly preferred.

BENEFITS

We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported.
