Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Beverage Director to lead and elevate all beverage operations across a premier luxury resort. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing a best-in-class beverage program while driving financial performance, operational excellence, and exceptional guest experiences across multiple dining venues, lounges, bars, banquets, in-room dining, and resort events.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and luxury service standards. This individual will inspire and develop teams, build innovative beverage programs, and partner closely with culinary and operational leadership to deliver memorable guest experiences while maximizing profitability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall beverage strategy for all resort food & beverage outlets.
  • Lead beverage operations across restaurants, bars, lounges, banquets, in-room dining, pool, and resort events.
  • Create innovative wine, cocktail, beer, coffee, tea, and zero-proof beverage programs that reflect current trends and enhance the guest experience.
  • Oversee beverage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, inventory management, and cost controls.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership to create profitable food and beverage pairings and seasonal promotions.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, mentor, and develop beverage leaders and front-line team members.
  • Establish and maintain luxury service standards while fostering a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate supplier partnerships, oversee purchasing, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Conduct inventory audits and implement best practices to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Lead comprehensive beverage education programs focused on wine, spirits, cocktails, coffee, tea, responsible alcohol service, and luxury hospitality.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout service periods, providing operational support and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance the overall beverage experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive food & beverage leadership experience within luxury hotels, resorts, or upscale restaurants.
  • At least 3 years of experience overseeing multi-outlet beverage operations.
  • Proven success managing beverage P&Ls and delivering strong financial performance.
  • Experience leading banquet beverage operations, large-scale events, and resort activations.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, craft cocktails, beer, coffee, tea, and beverage trends.
  • Experience developing beverage programs that drive revenue growth while enhancing the guest experience.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams in luxury hospitality environments.

Qualifications

  • Certified Sommelier preferred.
  • BarSmarts Advanced Certification preferred.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Certification required or obtainable upon hire.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
