Summary
The JavaScript Developer will be responsible for developing specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. This role develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. This position participates in design and coding activities with other staff members.
Essential Functions
โ€ข Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
โ€ข Performs or reviews systems analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation for assigned projects.
โ€ข Maintains and modifies existing applications without supervision as well as under direction from senior staff members.
โ€ข Maintains functional operation of assigned production systems.
โ€ข Performs maintenance programming for existing version.
โ€ข Performs custom programming at customer request.
โ€ข Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
โ€ข Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience is required.
โ€ข 0-3 years of experience in software development is required.
โ€ข Proficient understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds.
โ€ข Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
โ€ข Good understanding AngularJS, D3, and NodeJS is preferred.
โ€ข Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX.
โ€ข Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues.
โ€ข Familiarity with JavaScript module loaders, such as Require.js and AMD.
โ€ข Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt and Gulp.js.
โ€ข Familiarity with Git.
โ€ข Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance is required.
โ€ข Familiarity with deploying apps to Amazon Web Services is a plus.
