Job description

The CareIQ Billing Specialist completes invoicing processes for all CareIQ Ancillary Healthcare services. Utilizing proprietary systems and knowledge from training, a CareIQ Billing Specialist will complete administrative review of vendor and provider bills, determine appointment type, and then generate vendor payments and customer invoices. This role operates with a high focus on accuracy and urgency to ensure that payment and invoice amounts are completed in alignment with contracted service level expectations.

This is a remote role but for continuity of business with our management team, candidate must reside in eastern or central time zones. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides quality and professional inbound and outbound telephonic customer service to assist customer and vendors with billing questions
  • Completes accurate data review and entry
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of how to operate corporate proprietary systems
  • Completes administrative review of medical notes and bills (Bill Review or Coding experience is not necessary)
  • Determines if payment and charge rates are in alignment with appointment type and contracted amounts
  • Uses bill history research, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to resolve customer questions
  • Meets departmental production and quality performance expectations
  • Additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Effective multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet designated deadlines
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office and Proprietary Systems
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor that sets tone for complex telephonic conversations
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma
  • Prior work experience in a detail oriented customer service environment

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $15.61 - $23.82 per hour
