Whether you're an experienced ER doctor or an internship-trained DVM eager to grow, AVES offers an environment that empowers you to thrive - with the support of exceptional specialists, advanced technology, and a team culture rooted in kindness, respect, learning, and innovation.
Why AVES?
Locally managed by founder Lindsay Vaughn, DVM, DACVECC, AVES is a progressive, multi-specialty hospital that continues to expand to meet the growing needs of our community. Our second location - a brand-new, 45,000 sq. ft. inpatient facility - is scheduled to open by the end of 2025 and will further strengthen our ability to provide integrated specialty and emergency care for pets in Central Texas.
We're proud to offer a wide range of services, including Internal Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Surgery, Neurology, Critical Care, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Anesthesiology, and Diagnostic Imaging (ultrasound, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and x-ray).
We currently offer high flow oxygen therapy and will soon be adding a ventilator to our oxygen delivery options.
We also partner with CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets to deliver high-quality cardiology services for our patients.
AVES is home to the only board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist in Austin, offering an exceptional resource for complex cases and advanced pain management.
Part of the Ethos Veterinary Health Family

What's In It For You?
At AVES, you'll find a culture that values teamwork, communication, and well-being. We offer:
  • Competitive salary and sign-on/relocation bonuses
  • Non-traditional ER schedule for better work-life balance
  • Access to 50+ veterinary journals
  • Medical, dental, and vision plan options
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off and uniform allowance
  • Personal pet benefits
  • Reimbursement for DVM license, DEA, AVMA, and VECCS membership fees
