The Property Insurance Specialist I is primarily responsible for processing a variety of personal lines policies and intricate insurance contracts related to residential homes and personal belongings.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • This position processes a variety of personal lines policies and intricate insurance contracts related to residential homes and personal belongings:

  • Processes personal lines policies and contracts often including items such as residential and recreational property, boats and other personal pleasure craft, and jewelry under the supervision of a more senior licensed broker.

  • Identifies client needs and provides information on varying insurance packages such as risk coverage, benefits and other policy features best suited to meet the client's needs; works with clients to manage and reduce their risk.

  • Recommends and implements a client's insurance coverage, premiums and collects payment; promotes Brio Insurance products and services.

  • Responds to emergencies and assists clients with their claims.

  • Maintain a Personal Lines book in excess of $600K in premium (subject to Manager discretion)

  • Assist the Property Insurance Specialists by collecting data from clients; accurately complete residential cost calculators and use compu quote.

  • Support the achievement of department and organizational goals as well as actively participates in regular staff meetings.

  • Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly and efficient work environment.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention.

Essential Qualifications

  • Completed Level 2 Brokers Insurance license

  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
