Insurance Product Enablement Lead

Next Insurance

Waltham, MA

Full-time

Re-posted 26 days ago

Job description

Location: Waltham, MA (hybrid)

ERGO NEXT's mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive. We're doing that by building the only technology-led, full-stack provider of small business insurance in the industry, taking on the entire value chain and transforming the customer experience.

Simply put, wherever you find small businesses, you'll find ERGO NEXT.

Since 2016, we've helped hundreds of thousands of small business customers across the United States get fast, customized and affordable coverage. We're backed by industry leaders in insurance and tech, and we still have room to grow — that's where you come in.

We are seeking an Insurance Product Enablement Lead to establish and manage a new function within NEXT's Insurance Product Management (IPM) team. This role will enhance efficiency, scalability, and execution across all business lines by centralizing operations, boosting analytical capabilities, and improving product infrastructure. This allows IPMs to focus on strategic, profitable growth. Ideal for those who excel at the intersection of product, operations, and analytics, and enjoy building systems to improve team effectiveness.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and lead the Insurance Product Enablement function, integrating Insurance Product Ops and Analyst subteams under a unified operating model
  • Act as a strategic partner to Insurance Product Managers to reduce operational friction and accelerate delivery
  • Oversee and evolve IP-Ops responsibilities, including handling compliance inquiries, issue resolution, manual policy tasks, and process documentation.
  • Oversee and evolve Analyst responsibilities, including product amendment support, competitive analysis, ad hoc studies, and recurring performance reporting.
  • Identify and implement process and infrastructure improvements that enhance product configuration, documentation, and delivery.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial, and Compliance to streamline cross-functional workflows and improve product governance.
  • Develop shared tools, templates, and dashboards that improve visibility, accuracy, and collaboration across product teams.
  • Create and maintain operating standards, service-level expectations, and feedback mechanisms that ensure consistent, high-quality support for all IPMs.
  • Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

What We Need:

  • 7+ years of experience in insurance product management, operations, or enablement
  • Demonstrated ability to design and scale internal processes, tools, and governance frameworks that drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or teams in insurance, insurtech, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the commercial insurance product lifecycle, including filings, underwriting, and system implementation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Analytical mindset and comfort working with data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and drive multiple initiatives forward simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree required; insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, AINS, AU) a plus
