Summary:

The Family Birthing Center at our Rust Medical Center is seeking an experienced Family Birthing/Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. In this role you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently integrating a standards-based framework model.

Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: 12 Hour Nights (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assess, monitor, and manage the physical and emotional well-being of patients during labor , delivery , and recovery.

  • Fetal Monitoring: Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and other diagnostic tests to ensure maternal and fetal health.

  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals during deliveries, including assisting with cesarean sections or emergency procedures.

  • Provide care and education to new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.

  • Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and epidurals while monitoring for any adverse reactions.

  • Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, fetal distress, or neonatal complications.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License

  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

  • Family Birthing/Labor and Delivery Experience Highly Preferred

  • 1-3 years RN Experience Highly Preferred.
