    Job description

    #jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | MOLDING TECHNICIAN | MANUFACTURING | KCMO |

A global manufacturer of precision plastic components for the consumer products industry is hiring experienced Molding Technicians at its KCMO facility. There are multiple openings across 2nd and 3rd shift.  This is a stable, full-time opportunity with a well-established company that has been supplying major consumer brands for decades. If you know injection molding inside and out — mold changeovers, setup, auxiliary equipment — this is the kind of company where skilled technicians build long careers.

    • $27-$35/hour based on experience, plus differentials.
    • Health Insurance, Dental/Vision, Life Insurance, 401K, PTO/Holidays
    • Opportunities for skill development
    • 2nd & 3rd shifts open, includes pay differentials

    Overview:

    • Execute scheduled mold changeovers: pull and set injection molds using an overhead crane, prepare tooling for the next production run, and confirm setup before startup
    • Set up all auxiliary equipment associated with each production run — robots, heater boxes, cooling systems, valve gate systems — to achieve standard operating efficiency
    • Perform color and order changes, including all required line clearance activities, according to the daily production schedule
    • Complete daily PM checklists on assigned machines and perform simple maintenance and processing adjustments to maintain uptime
    • Inspect molded parts visually throughout the shift to verify quality standards are met before parts move downstream
    • Assist in training newer team members within the assigned production area
    • Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping in assigned area; assist with material scanning and movement as needed
    • Follow all LOTO procedures and safety regulations without exception

    Preferred Skills/Experiences:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience with injection mold changeovers — setting and pulling molds is required
    • Overhead crane operation required (certification preferred or must be certifiable)
    • Working knowledge of injection molding machines: operation, setup, and basic maintenance
    • Familiarity with auxiliary equipment: robots, cooling systems, valve gate systems, heater boxes
    • Understanding of plastic materials and basic hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems
    • Forklift operation experience (preferred)
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally; regularly lifts up to 58 lbs
    • Ability to stand and walk for a full shift in a manufacturing environment
    • Must be available for 2nd or 3rd shift; 1st shift opening also available
