Job Summary
The Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing industrial sewing, cutting, and finishing equipment used in a cut-and-sew manufacturing operation. This position ensures equipment operates efficiently, safely, and at optimal quality levels to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
·         Maintain and repair industrial sewing machines including single needle, overlock, coverstitch, bartack, buttonhole, and specialty machines
·         Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fabric cutting machines including automated cutters, straight knife, band knife, and die cutting equipment
·         Maintain and service seam sealing and heat-sealing machines including hot air, hot wedge, ultrasonic, and tape-sealing equipment
·         Adjust temperature, pressure, speed, and alignment settings on seam sealing machines to meet product specifications and material requirements
·         Ensure cutting accuracy, blade condition, and sealing integrity to support quality and compliance requirements
·         Assist with machine setup, attachments, and operation-specific tuning
·         Respond promptly to machine breakdowns
·         Ensure machines meet quality and safety standards
·         Maintain maintenance records and assist with parts inventory
Qualifications
·         High school diploma or equivalent
·         3+ years of experience as a sewing machine mechanic in a cut-and-sew manufacturing environment
·         Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
·         Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and schematics
Preferred Qualifications
·         Experience with automated or programmable sewing equipment
·         Basic electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
·         Technical or vocational training
