This is a full-time professional (teacher's contract) PASD position which will begin on August 19, 2026.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will instruct elementary emotional support students in accordance with the goals and specially designed instruction outlined within each student's IEP. Responsibilities include providing instruction in an individualized or small group setting for academics, communication, social skills, and behavior support. Supervision and instruction will be required for the full-time paraeducators in this classroom.
Qualifications:
  • Instructional I/II Special Education PK-8 (9226), PA Instructional I/II Special Education PK-12 (9225) Certificate, PA Instructional I/II Special Education N-12 Certificate, Instructional I/II Mental and/or Physically Handicapped K-12 (9235), Instructional I/II Mentally Retarded K-12, Instructional I/II Socially and Emotionally Disturbed K-12, or Instructional I/II Emotional Disturbed K-12 certificate preferred. Any PA Instructional I/II teaching certification is required.
  • Knowledge of Verbal Behavior/Applied Behavior Analysis, including behavioral interventions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of specially designed instruction, the MDE process, proficiency in IEP writing, facilitation of IEP meetings, and ability to work with other professionals, including paraprofessionals and related service therapists in a team setting, is required.
  • Previous experience working in a school-setting is preferred.
