Service Technicians are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and emergency exit lights. Duties include, but are not limited to, recharging, hydrostatic testing, and system repairs. This role involves daily customer interaction; therefore, the ideal candidate is outgoing, self-motivated, computer literate, and possesses strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a professional appearance.Â

Job Description:
- Provide assistance with customer walk-in service in a professional and courteous mannerÂ
- Perform monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections and testing of fire extinguishers, kitchen hood suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and emergency lightingÂ
- Conduct hydrostatic testing of high- and low-pressure cylindersÂ
- Dismantle fire extinguishers and inspect tubing, horns, gaskets, cutter discs, and related components; replace worn or defective parts as neededÂ
- Install, repair, and maintain fire extinguisher cabinets and mounting bracketsÂ
- Complete electronic and handwritten inspection reports, accurately documenting time worked and all required paperwork in a timely mannerÂ
- Travel locally to customer sites to perform inspections, repairs, installations, and maintenanceÂ
- Ensure job quality and customer satisfaction at all stages of serviceÂ
- Monitor inventory levels and submit requests for supplies, materials, and equipmentÂ
- Assist with shipping and receiving of materials and equipmentÂ
- Maintain company-provided vehicles and equipment, ensuring proper upkeep and safetyÂ
- Work independently while properly using provided personal protective equipment (PPE)Â
- Adhere to all prescribed safety standards and company policiesÂ
- Assist with scheduling and timely completion of assigned dutiesÂ
- Complete all required, mandatory, and recommended training programsÂ
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to safely use small hand toolsÂ
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbsÂ
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordÂ
- Basic to intermediate computer skillsÂ
- Strong customer service and communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and follow instructionsÂ
- Aptitude for inspection, repair, and general maintenance tasksÂ
- Friendly, personable, and professional demeanorÂ
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsÂ

Experience considered a plus:

- Experience installing, servicing, or testing fire alarmsÂ
- Forklift operation experience or certificationÂ
- Certifications PTL, Fire Alarms, Suppression Systems or equivalentÂ
