Description

Position Overview

The AAA Fire Protection Inc. Extinguisher/Fire Suppression Systems Technician role services and maintains Fire Extinguishers and Fire Suppression systems for current and new customers in accordance with current manufacturers' recommendations, NFPA and DOT standards and regulations, and current jurisdictional code. Operation of a company vehicle and independent scheduling and invoicing of appointments is required using company and jurisdictional provided software platforms. Responsible for maintaining a professional, productive, and safe work environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled & reoccurring maintenance of customers fire extinguishers including annual maintenance (or required service interval), recharging or repair, breakdowns, and hydrostatic testing (hydrostatic testing shall be done by our DOT approved shop only otherwise approved to be done by an external DOT approved company) to manufactures and jurisdictional requirement and recommendations. 
  • Carry out scheduled & reoccurring maintenance of customers suppression systems including semi-annual maintenance (or required service interval), systems recharges, installs, repairs and hydrostatic testing (hydrostatic testing shall be done by our DOT approved shop only unless otherwise approved to be done by an external DOT approved company) to manufactures and jurisdictional requirement and recommendations. 
  • Advise customer on fire protection equipment and techniques, as well as fire code standards and jurisdictional interpretation and compliance.
  • Perform site surveys to educate customers of required related fire protection equipment.
  • Monitor and report issues with operation of company vehicle.
  • Monitor and maintain proper working order of any applicable recharge equipment used on company service vehicle.
  • Understand product capabilities, warranties, product usages and challenges, to further educate and serve external customers.
  • Responsible for notifying direct supervisor of any equipment break down or malfunction or any unsafe working conditions.
  • Responsible for complying and enforcing safety requirements while on company property and at customers site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work in a fast- paced team environment 
  • Exhibits attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and follow through.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hold and maintain applicable distributor manufacture and jurisdictional certifications including but not limited to FEX-1 and E-4.
  • Ability to work overtime and or outside standard business hours and or weekends as needed to accommodate customer needs. 
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to post accident, reasonable suspicion or contract required drug testing.
