Full Time Human Lab Rat information

What is a full time human lab rat?

Full Time Human Lab Rats are individuals who regularly participate in clinical trials or scientific studies as test subjects. Their main role is to help researchers gather data about new medications, medical devices, or behavioral studies by undergoing various tests and procedures. These participants are compensated for their time and may undergo strict screening to ensure they meet study requirements. The work can involve risks, depending on the nature of the study, but ethical guidelines and oversight are in place to protect their health and rights.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a clinical research participant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Clinical Research Participant, you must have good physical and mental health, reliability, and the ability to follow detailed instructions, with eligibility often determined by specific health criteria. Familiarity with informed consent processes and compliance with clinical trial protocols are crucial, though no formal technical certifications are required. Attention to detail, dependability, and strong communication skills help participants accurately report experiences and promptly relay any issues to the research team. These qualities are vital to ensure the integrity of study data, participant safety, and the overall success of clinical research.

Job description

Location: In-Person | Yucaipa, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, with occasional evening/weekend events
Reports To: HR/People Operations Director → CEO
About The Behavior Lab
At The Behavior Lab, we believe that taking great care of our clients starts with taking great care of our people.
We are a growing ABA organization dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality services to children and families-and creating a workplace where our team members feel supported, connected, and excited about the work they do.
We're looking for an HR & Talent Acquisition Coordinator who loves people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can bring both organization and personality to the employee experience. From finding great people to welcoming new hires and keeping our teams connected, this role has the opportunity to make an impact throughout the entire employee journey.
About the Role
The HR & Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports the full employee lifecycle-from recruiting and hiring through onboarding, employee engagement, internal transitions, and offboarding.
This role combines HR coordination, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and culture-building. You'll partner closely with leadership and hiring teams to help us find the right people, create a positive candidate and new-hire experience, maintain accurate employee documentation, and bring our culture to life through recognition, events, and engagement initiatives.
We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to take initiative, follow through, connect with people, and find creative ways to make the employee experience even better.
What You'll Do
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, internal transitions, engagement, and offboarding
  • Coordinate candidate outreach, interviews, hiring events, and onboarding logistics
  • Help create a welcoming and organized experience from a candidate's first interaction through their first days on the team
  • Partner with hiring leaders to support staffing needs and maintain an active talent pipeline
  • Assist with HR compliance tasks, employee documentation, audits, and HR-related processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Serve as a first point of contact for new-hire questions and escalate sensitive or complex matters when appropriate
  • Plan and attend hiring events, career fairs, and community outreach opportunities
  • Coordinate employee Social Groups and support engagement efforts across the organization
  • Support employee recognition, celebrations, wellness initiatives, and culture-building activities
  • Assist with internal marketing and branded employee engagement initiatives
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of People Operations SOPs and workflows
  • Look for opportunities to make recruiting, onboarding, and employee processes more organized, efficient, and engaging
  • Collaborate across departments to support a positive and consistent employee experience
  • Perform additional HR and People Operations responsibilities as assigned by leadership

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people but also loves the details behind the scenes.
You should be someone who can comfortably move from coordinating interviews and communicating with candidates to reviewing employee documentation, planning a team event, or helping improve an internal process.
You don't have to know everything on day one, but you should be motivated to learn, comfortable taking ownership, and excited to grow within Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, People Operations, event coordination, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, or HR operations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Emotional intelligence and professionalism when handling employee-related matters
  • Creative mindset and enthusiasm for employee engagement and culture
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a growing, fast-paced organization
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and Gmail

Why You'll Love Working With Us
At The Behavior Lab, People Operations is about more than paperwork-it's about people. You'll have the opportunity to help shape how someone first discovers The Lab, how they're welcomed onto the team, how they stay connected, and how we continue creating a workplace where people can learn, grow, and belong.
We believe in developing our people, celebrating individuality, recognizing great work, and promoting from within whenever possible. Your ideas will matter, your creativity will be encouraged, and you'll have the opportunity to grow alongside an organization that is continuing to evolve.
If you love finding great people, creating great experiences, and being part of the team that helps keep everything connected behind the scenes, we'd love to meet you!

401(k) Retirement Plan
Paid Time Off (PTO) & Sick Time

Occasional local travel for hiring events, career fairs, and community events is expected, along with occasional evening or weekend availability.
Ready to Help Us Find, Welcome & Grow Great People?
