Position Summary
The Highway Striping Operator is responsible for operating company vehicles and specialized pavement marking equipment while assisting with roadway striping, pavement marking installation, traffic control, and project completion. Team members work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
This position requires a willingness to work outdoors, travel as needed, and work overtime, nights, and weekends when project schedules require.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate assigned vehicles and striping equipment safely and efficiently
  • Drive assigned truck and equipment to and from job sites
  • Complete daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and required documentation
  • Correctly load, unload, secure, and transport equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Assist with roadway layout and pavement marking installation
  • Apply roadway striping, lane markings, symbols, and specialty pavement markings
  • Perform roadway preparation work, including grinding, sealing, tape removal, and surface preparation
  • Assist with temporary traffic control operations and flagging activities once certified
  • Maintain assigned equipment and assist with routine preventive maintenance
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and customer safety regulations
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training programs
  • Clean and organize vehicles, warehouse, shop, yard, and work areas to maintain a safe work environment
  • Immediately report incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety concerns according to company procedures
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required
  • CDL preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company vehicle insurance requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in random drug testing as required by company policy
  • Ability to qualify under the company's Fleet Safety Policy
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, nights, weekends, and travel when required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations
