TPZP, a Tutor Perini joint venture company, is the company selected to execute the California High Speed Rail - construction package one (CP-1). TPZP is seeking a Segment Manager for the project in Fresno, CA

About California High Speed Rail- CP1

Extraordinary Projects, Exceptional Performance

The California High-Speed Rail Authority's Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California's Central Valley.

The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.

Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent

DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist the Project Executive in management of the project through oversight of a segment of the 30- mile Project.

  • Liaise with owner representatives, project staff, subcontractors and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities within the assigned Project segment.

  • Fully understand and manage construction of assigned segment in accordance with all plans and specifications

  • Monitor/control construction of assigned segment through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure project is built safely, meeting all quality standards, on schedule and within budget

  • Identify potential construction issues, evaluate and implement best value solutions to facilitate uninterrupted construction

  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

  • Represent company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.

  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with owner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or similar

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Project Manager on heavy civil projects

  • 15 or more years of construction experience

  • Previous experience in construction of rail projects
