About California High Speed Rail- CP1
Extraordinary Projects, Exceptional Performance
The California High-Speed Rail Authority's Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California's Central Valley.
The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.
Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent
DESCRIPTION:
As a General Superintendent at Tutor Perini, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Supervise and direct the work of discipline Superintendents across earthworks and structures construction efforts to ensure project is constructed safely in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
  • Assume responsibility for compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements, efficient use of materials & equipment, site safety plan and timely performance of the project schedule.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Assist project management in developing, project schedule, site logistics plan and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  • Support Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Coordinate with on-site Owner employees.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 15 or more years of construction experience
  • 10 or more years' experience as a superintendent on heavy civil projects
  • Experience as a superintendent on projects valued over $200M
  • Previous Superintendent experience on bridge, highway or transit projects
  • Knowledge, skills and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
  • Experience with City, State, Federal Government Clients preferred
  • Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft
  • Experienced in MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy bid or similar software
  • OSHA certification, First Aid Certs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Highschool diploma or GED preferred but not required
