Job description

Heartland Construction, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Project Superintendent to support its active and growing construction portfolio throughout Hampton Roads. This role provides the opportunity to lead a range of project types across the company's portfolio, with the expectation of full-time, on-site leadership dedicated to a single project assignment to ensure disciplined execution, quality outcomes, and schedule performance.

The Project Superintendent will be responsible for leading day-to-day field operations on predominantly ground-up new construction projects, with occasional additions and renovations, depending on portfolio needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time, on-site leadership for a single assigned project from mobilization through closeout
  • Plan and manage construction sequencing, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
  • Enforce safety, quality control, and site logistics standards
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management, owners, architects, and inspectors
  • Maintain an organized, professional jobsite environment aligned with company standards

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of superintendent experience preferred
  • Proven experience delivering ground-up projects in the $50M+ range; experience on smaller projects is beneficial
  • Background in healthcare, hospitality, K-12, higher education, or commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and field leadership best practices
  • Ability to work on projects located throughout Hampton Roads
