Superintendent/Lead Operator
Excavation/Sitework/Earthwork
Chip Kronau Construction & Excavation has an opening for long-term, full-time employees who want to grow with this company. We are a busy, family-owned Construction & Excavation company with a solid reputation and long tenured crew who operates locally within the Albany NY area. 
We are looking for a Superintendent / Lead Operator with the proven ability to oversee and manage all aspects of excavation and dirt work projects to join our team.  We offer top pay, modern equipment and tools, excellent employee management and benefits. 
Basic Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively and manage and supervise excavation crews, project owners and subcontractors
  • High proficiency in operating heavy equipment but not limited to the following; excavators, loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, articulated trucks, rollers and skid steers.
  • The operation of this equipment is required to fulfill the task of excavation, trenching, grading, material handling, loading, unloading and dredging
  • Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints and specs
  • Perform simple layout of jobs
  • Establish grades and elevations
  • Be able to use lasers and transits
  • Must have Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience
  • Experience setting up and operating GPS machine-controlled equipment
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols
  • Resolve any project related issues, conflicts or delays in a timely manner
Preferred Requirements:
  • High school diploma or vocational training in a closely related field.
  • 30 hour OSHA Construction Safety Training.
  • SWPPP (Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan) Training.
  • Certified Excavator Certificate
  • CDL
  • Mechanically inclined

Schedule: Full-time with opportunity for overtime. Average of 50-55 hr. work week
