Job description

Experienced Litigation Attorney (Family Law/Divorce)

Busy divorce and family law firm in Mount Pleasant seeking an experienced litigation attorney who is self-motivated, client-centric, and comfortable in Court. This role is for someone who can run their own caseload and take cases from intake through resolution (settlement or trial).

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a full caseload of contested family law matters (divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, enforcement)
  2. Draft and argue motions; handle temporary hearings and trials
  3. Conduct discovery; take/defend depositions
  4. Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and trial strategy
  5. Communicate proactively with clients and opposing counsel; keep cases moving

Requirements:

  1. Licensed attorney in good standing
  2. Litigation experience required (family court preferred; comparable litigation considered)
  3. Ability to work independently with strong organization and follow-through
  4. Strong writing, professionalism, and client communication skills

Compensation: Salary negotiable based on experience.

Family Law Paralegal (Full-Time)

Busy divorce and family law firm seeking a full-time Paralegal to support a high-volume litigation practice. This position is for someone who is highly organized, responsive, and able to assist and execute tasks efficiently for a busy attorney with an active caseload.

Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Mount Pleasant, SC
Compensation: Salary negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide day-to-day litigation support for a busy attorney’s caseload
  2. Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, correspondence, and discovery
  3. Organize and maintain case files (paper and electronic); track deadlines and calendars
  4. Prepare and assemble hearing/trial binders, exhibits, and supporting documents
  5. Coordinate service, scheduling, client appointments, and case logistics
  6. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  7. Assist with document collection and organization (including financial and case records)

Requirements

  1. Paralegal experience preferred (family law experience is a plus)
  2. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize under deadlines
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional client service
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and PDF tools (Adobe or similar)
  5. Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Notes

  1. South Carolina Family Court does not e-file; experience coordinating physical filings/service and managing court-required forms is a plus.
