Full time position: minimum of 40 hours per week, nights and weekends required

Summary: Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School operations. This encompasses all daily
operations including safety, staffing, pool operations, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement amongst other duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Helps the General Manager and department managers fulfill all daily tasks.
  2. Oversees employee engagement to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction and company culture.
  3. Oversee training and development of the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction in accordance with GSS standards.
  4. Interacts with all staff on operational items including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
  5. Able to maintain and troubleshoot proper pool chemistry and pump room operation.
  6. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  7. Completes evaluations on all teachers and conducts an assessment on all trainees prior to teaching independently.
  8. Directs, trains, maintains and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all staff on the GSS EAP. .
  9. Interacts with the team members on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.
  10. Provides sales and marketing training to all front desk/sales staff. Works with the Marketing team to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance.
  11. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved. Assist GM with purchasing.
  12. Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.
  13. Work with GM and Marketing Manager to manage social media, book water safety presentations and events, and build partnerships with local, like-minded businesses.
  14. Oversee monitoring of email, voice messages, and social media to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
  15. Gains knowledge and experience in all technology platforms to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.
  16. Initiates and oversees workplace culture and employee interaction. Maintain a high level of employee engagement and satisfaction.
  17. Obtains and maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelors degree in business administration, communications or equivalent is preferred. Experience as youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor or aquatics instructor/supervisor is preferred. Two years management experience is preferred. Two or more years as a swimming instructor is preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED and CPO certifications preferred. Must be able to obtain these certifications within 90 days of start date. Certifications must stay up to date and current.
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
